A volunteer group providing support for

Savanna Portage State Park

The Friends of Savanna Portage State Park are involved in volunteer, educational, and social events to engage the public in appreciating and using Savanna Portage State Park and adjacent Remote lake Solitude Area.

Savanna Portage is a hidden gem. As the third largest state park in MN, it holds an array of plant communities, an abundance of wildlife, and a rich natural and cultural history.
Visitors enjoy miles of hiking and biking. Four lakes in the park offer canoeing, swimming and fishing. Plus the park has a 60 site campground, year-round lodging and remote backpack sites.
This park is off the beaten path, feels remote and wild, but has amenities for day trips or family vacations.
